How to Know if Someone Blocked You on Snapchat

When someone blocks you on Snapchat, it will be as if the person’s Snapchat account never existed. You won’t get any notifications from them. You will not view their snaps and stories and can’t send them text messages and chat with them. But how would you know if someone blocked you on Snapchat?

Sometimes it can be difficult to know if someone has blocked you or they have just deleted or deactivated their account, or they have removed you from their friend’s list. Usually, when people block someone, you can already know why they have blocked you because normally, no one blocks anyone without any reason.

However, if you feel like someone has blocked you, but you are not quite sure if they have blocked you or deleted their account, then here are a few things that you can do to know if someone blocked you on Snapchat.

Steps to Know if Someone Blocked You on Snapchat

Check your Friends List

How to know if someone blocked you on SnapchatOpen your Snapchat app and then swipe right across the screen to look at your friend list. There you can see your Snapchat friends. Scroll down the friend list, and if you cannot see someone you were friends with before, then maybe you have been blocked.

But hold on before jumping to any conclusion because you also can’t see someone on your friends list if they have removed you from their friend list or have deactivated their account.

Use the Search Function

If you also can’t see someone on your friend’s list, then it’s time for you to search for them using the search function. Check for their name or username using the search icon that looks like a magnifying glass at the top of the page.

If they appear and show a “+ Add” icon on the left side of their username, then they might have removed you from their Snapchat friend list. If their username does not appear, then they might have blocked you.

It isn’t, though, proof in and of itself. It’s possible that not having the user’s profile in the search feature is due to them deleting their account. Therefore, you will have to dig a little bit deeper than that to confirm your suspicion officially.

Ask a Mutual Friend

If you want to know if you have been blocked or if someone has deleted their account, you can ask a mutual friend. Mutual friends on Snapchat are friends with you and the other person you are friends with as well.

So you can ask that mutual friend to check on their friend list. If they appear on their friend list but not yours, then you have been blocked. But if they do not appear on their friend list, they must have deleted their Snapchat account.

However, keep in mind that if the same user has already blocked your mutual friend, they will not be able to see the account either.

Use Another Account

The last thing is if you want to know if someone blocked you on Snapchat. Open or create another Snapchat account and search for that user from that account. If you can find the user from that account, then rest assured that you have been blocked. If you still can’t find that user from the next account, they must have deleted or deactivated their account.
